I have coached dozens of doctors launching their first online business.

At first, they all want to sell a high-ticket ($3k and above) service or product. “I didn’t spend decades training and practicing to give away my knowledge!”, they say to me. “I’d have to sell thousands of these to make a decent living!”

At face value, these are logical statements.

But the mistake is believing that your entire online business needs to revolve around $27 dollar ebooks or checklists.

The online entrepreneur knows the low ticket item is the start of a relationship with a new customer.

Think of it as dating.

You’re getting to know each other. As such, you each make a small investment into the relationship. They invest a little bit of their money and you invest a little bit of your expertise.

If they get enough value from your material, they’ll be happy to make a larger investment.

Ask them out on a second date!

Did you ever go out on a first date with someone, had a great time, and couldn’t wait to hear from them again?

When your initial product delivers on its promise, that is exactly how your clients will feel about you. So don’t leave them hanging and reach back out. Email, text messages, DMs. They all work.

This is how relationships are built.

After you build a relationship with them, they’ll be much more likely –and willing!– to enroll in your higher-ticket services.
